Please note: Bamfield is an isolated community. If you have a life-threatening medical condition that may require hospitalization, we advise you not to come. Bamfield has a lovely Vancouver Island Health Authority outpost clinic "manned" by incredibly competent nurses, and a Coast Guard Lifeboat Station on 24hr emergency stand-by. Bring your health card. If you are not Canadian, purchase travel insurance and be prepared to pay ~$800 CAD to access services at the clinic. If you have a life-threatening medical condition or allergies please notify BMSC safety officer, Siobhan Gray (diving@bms.bc.ca); all information will be kept confidential.
